Drinking water production (5 credits)
This course provides participants with an in-depth
understanding of drinking water production through
the operation and observation of an actual water
treatment plant. It will equip students with a practical
overview of water treatment and precipitation
processes, disinfection methods, residual treatments,
and continuous measurements and adjustments as part
of process management.
Managing the wastewater treatment process
(5 credits)
Students on this course will study the water treatment
process and the impact of various conditions on
treatment at a pilot-scale wastewater treatment plant.
The course covers the following topics: introduction
to the processes of a wastewater treatment plant;
monitoring the operations of a wastewater treatment
plant; septic treatment of sludge; introduction to
the biogas process and its operations; indicators;
monitoring and steering of the biogas process
